FACAA FUTURES RULES

 

BIG 5 Conference

11 & Under Boys with 12u girls Co-ed Bracket

  • Quarters - Games have four 8 minute quarters

  • Clock Stoppage - Running clock but the game clock stops for foul shots, 4 minute substitutions, timeouts and injuries. The clock will stop for all whistles with less than 2 minutes in the second and fourth quarter

  • Substitutions - For the first three quarters, substitutions will occur at the 4 minute mark and all players will attempt play an equal amount of time. During the fourth quarter, the coach may play their players as they see fit

  • Ball Size - Size 6 (28.5 inches in circumference).

  • Basket Height - The  hoop height is 10 feet.

  • Personal Fouls/Violations

    • Players are disqualified after committing 5 fouls

    • If a player commits a technical foul, they will be penalized by the opposing team getting 2 free throws. In the event 2 technical fouls is assessed to a player, the said player must leave the building, if player does not leave building, player's team will be eliminated.

    • Opposing team takes 2 foul shots after 7 team fouls each quarter (Total fouls in the 4th quarter carries into Overtime).

    • 3 seconds in the lane on offense is a violation

    • Once the jerseys arrive, teams are expected to wear the league approved jersey along with black shorts. Failure to comply will result in two free throws for the opposing team.

  • Defense - Full court press is NOT allowed until February games (rules to be shared then). Half court press can be played except if the lead is more than 10 points.

  • Timeouts - Teams will have 2 timeouts per half, with each timeout lasting 1 minute. No carryover. One time out for each Overtime period.

  • Overtime - If the score is tied at the end of regulation, an overtime period of 3 minutes is played. If it’s still a tie after overtime, the game will end in a tie. For playoffs, unlimited 3-minute overtimes are played until a winner is determined.

  • Sportsmanship and Conduct

    • Players, coaches, and fans are expected to maintain sportsmanship. Technical fouls can be called for unsportsmanlike behavior, and excessive fouling or arguing with referees may lead to disqualification.

    • THE FACAA COMMITTEE & REFEREES HAVE THE DISCRETION TO REMOVE ANYONE THEY FEEL IS ACTING IN AN INAPPROPRIATE MANNER. If any player, parent, or coach is ejected from a game, they will be suspended from the next game AND ALL PARTIES (related player/family/fans) must leave the building. Also possible removal from the league pending a FACAA board discussion.
